Brad Pitt divorced from Angelina Jolie in September 2016, and since then the two have been involved in a dispute over property, their six children and land at Chateau Miraval, France. The ‘Fight Club’ star sued Jolie for alleged breach of contract after she sold her share of the land to a Russian oligarch.
Jolie is said to have sold the plot of land without her consent. Pitt is known to have long accused the 48-year-old actress of selling the Chateau Miraval estate out of ‘revenge’, after custody of her children was given to him, but Jolie denies this.
The Chateau Miraval vineyard is where Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt married in 2014. The former couple took over the famous establishment in 2008 when they moved to the Chateau located in a Provençal vineyard.
Pitt is said to have worked hard on the building and grounds for his wine business. But Jolie sold her shares to liquor giant Stoli.
Pitt and Jolie’s relationship became increasingly strained, especially after she sold her share of the winery she shared with her ex-husband. Pitt believes that Jolie’s move to sell shares is detrimental to him and his interests in the Chateau Miraval winery.
In legal documents filed in Los Angeles in July 2022, Pitt’s lawyers accused Jolie of selling her shares to Yuri Scheffler’s factory, which would cost her the company.
Pitt has filed a lawsuit against Jolie over the sale of his shares in Chateau Miraval in February 2022. In the lawsuit, he seeks financial compensation and legal fees to cancel the sale made by Angelina to Scheffler.
